This arcticle present the results of assenssing position determination accuracy of a DGPS system. Correction signals were transmitted from Dziwnow and Hammerodde reference stations. The research, including six locations in the vicinity of Zalew Szczecińskie (The Szczecin Lagoon), aimed at the determination of how the elimination of selective availability affects position accuracy in a DGPS system.

During the manoeuvre of the ship's berthing at the quay an impact may occur and the resulting emission of energy in the system vessel - fender device - quay. Exceeding the permissible energy value causes damage to one of these elements and results in an accident. During the manoeuvre part the vessel's kinetic energy is converted into the vessel's turning in relation to the contact point with the quay. The article analyses the effective mooring energy absorbed by the fender device in the aspect of loss of part of the vessel's energy during turning. The relationship between the vessel's turing radius and the hull curve has been presentes.

Using shiphandling simulators (full-mission or PC-based) is now a standard for training, We know how to take advantage of them and how to prepare good exercise as close to real situations at sea as possible, and training goals. Now the shiphandling instructors more and more often discuss the problem of objective, multicriteria, and automatic shiphandling skills assessment (and/or examination) also through the use of shiphandling simulators. There are still no accepted criteria and methods in this respect, though the shiphandling simulator training itself has been intensively practised for a few decades over the world. The present paper contains discussion on such possibilities with regard to shiphandling skills assessment. The basic of discussion is research of ship's starboard side approaching to the pier for berthig assessment.

This article present basic measures determining fairway traffic capacity. The teoretical foundation has been supported with examples of real values of quantities identifying the process of vessel traffic. It has been show that the method is useful in determining capacity characteristics of a marine traffic engineering system. Important practical conclusions are drawn.

Using the Cumulant Expansion Technique there has been presented the mathematical description of two-sublattice dilute metamagnet with ferro and antiferromagnetic exchange interactions. The derived form of the averaged. Green function it the base for the analysis of the influence of structural fluctuations on the statistical properties of the system.

There has been analysed the influence of the structural fluctuations on the properties of a dilute metamagnet. The high-and low-concentration approximations have been found to give very close results and the most important influence on the physical quantities originates from the lowest - square fluctuations..

The essence of comparative navigation is to match a dynamically registered image with the pattern and to plot the position on that basis. Radar images contain lots of redundant data which should be removed before any further processing. The paper presents three techniques and assesses their usefulness for comparative position plotting.

Solving the problems of vessel traffic organisation in narrow fairways can be treated as an optimisation problem with the criterion of time function oprimisation. The article presents a characteristic simplified mathematical model of vessel traffic which can be used in narrow fairways with low traffic intensity. The problem does not cause any difficulties with calculating solutions, but the results are far from optimal. The results are illustrated with results for chosen data.
