The author has tested a hypothesis concerning the exponential distribution of the waiting times for the reporting of the next fairway vessel in the y Szczecin – Świnoujście fairway. The “chi square” Pearson test has been used. The relevant 2002 data have been examined in three sets: for weekdays, for holidays and for days immediately preceding or following holidays (“near-holidays”).
