    This author presents the results of an analysis of the effect of directly measured quantities and their measurement (standard) deviations on the value of the total measurement uncertainty of roundness deviation. The methods described refer to the determination of roundness deviation based on the mean square element and basic mathematical transformations and relationships that provided a basis for the analysis. Its results are given in the form of diagrams followed by final conclusions

    The author presents the results of research aimed at determining the best conditions of supporting large and elastic machine elements such as crankshafts. A number of simulation tests were performed with variable shaft support conditions changed using the author’s system of elastic support of crankshafts. The selection criteria were established for support parameters. Meeting these criteria guarantees that shaft elastic deflections and strains are eliminated. Consequently, such strains will not affect the estimation of geometrical deviations of the measured object

    This article discusses possible applications of correlation calculus as a universal tool enabling verification of a procedure for correct selection of elastic support system. Such system is used in measurements values of roundness deviations of main crankshaft bearing journals and assessment of shape correctness of measured roundness profiles. These profiles can be mathematically represented as a sum of terms of a Fourier trigonometric series

    The crankshaft is liable to deformation due to inaccurate positioning of its main journals in the bearings. This article presents results of simulated tests of such deformations. The test results and methods for the verification of crankshaft mounting in the main bearings are assessed. A new method of measurement of crankweb deformations is proposed, the so called symmetric method, that allows the correct assessment of the condition of the crankshaft mounting in the bearings.

    This paper deals with an analysis and error estimation of geometrical interpreta-tion of circularity profile of machinery parts using non-reference methods. The obtained results were applied in the correction of polar circularity profile graphs

    In the following paper a prototype of a new kind of constant capacity pump with pistons rotating in toroidal space has been presented. Some of the results, i.e. analysis of pressure losses in the new type of pump have been described. The results of the exper-iment can be applied while designing such a pump.

    Prawidłowa ocena zużycia eksploatacyjnego elementów łożysk ślizgowych jest jednym z ważnych zagadnień, zwłaszcza przy remoncie silnika. W pracy zamieszczono wyniki oceny eksploatacyjnej dla panewek cienkościennych silników M400 i M401A. Wyniki badań wskazują na niedostateczną jakość wykonania panewek cienkościennych jako przyczynę ich przyspieszonego zużycia.

    Przeprowadzono analizę błędów pomiarów występujących w metodzie oceny błędów kształtu położenia osi otworów gniazd łożyskowych w korpusie silnika z użyciem wału kontrolnego i czujnika. W dalszej części przedstawiono zagadnienie optymalizacji kształtu wału kontrolnego oraz jego miejsc podparcia w otworach gniazd łożyskowych, pozwalających minimalizować błędy pomiarów.

    Przedstawiono zagadnienie optymalizacji pomiarów przy ocenie kształtu zarysów kołowych metodami bezodniesieniowymi. W rezultacie przeprowadzonych obliczeń numerycznych wyznaczono otymalną liczbę punktów opisujących profil kołowy, pozwalający w sposób poprawny ( z punktu widzenia dokładności) wyznaczyć poszukiwane parametry rozpatrywanego zarysu.

    The results of tests presented herein can have practical applications for the adjustment of rotary speed to ensure constant contact between the measuring sensor’s spindle tip and the crankshaft journal of a piston energy converter, whose roundness profile is being measured. Analytical considerations have been supported by the results of simulations as well as experimental tests. The research has also shown that an increase in rotary speed affects the obtained profile shape and the value of determined roundness deviation.

    This article describes the construction and principles of operation of a prototype energy-converting machine – a flow machine with pistons rotating in toroidal spaces. A comparative analysis of the results of simulation and experimental tests of fluid flow resistance in the presented prototype machine has been performed with the use of correlation and integral calculi. The article also presents a comparative analysis of the volumetric efficiency of the examined pump and of a Vogelsang pump with similar design and size. The present state of the research makes it possible draw conclusions about the high exploitation value of the proposed pump construction. For this displacement pump, performance increases along with rotational speed. However, it is different from other pumps by virtue of is simple and compact construction as well as greater capacity in relation to its size.

    Abstract This paper presents the results of modelling research concerned with the technological process of the cold bending of a pipe. Stress and plastic strain studies are carried out using the finite element method (FEM) on a thick-walled pipe and various shapes of bending form. The results of the research are benchmarked in terms of the correctness of the implementation of the bending process, including the change in the pipe outside diameter and wall thickness. The level of ovalisation of the cross-section in the bending pipe is used as the primary criterion for assessing the correctness of the bending process. The results show that the most favourable properties in terms of minimising the ovalisation of the pipe cross-section are provided by the use of a bending form with a trapezoidal shape.
